A Friend Forever

A friend who is
a friend forever
will never
turn away;

She is a friend
at sunrise
and at the close
of day.

A friend speaks
the truth and loves you
when truth
is hard to bear.

A friend's voice is
soft and gentle.
She shows you that
she cares.

A friend lends an ear
and listens
to what you have
to save.

A friend takes the time
to bow down
and for her friend,
to pray.

Even in the day
of trouble,
a friend
is always there.

A friend who is
a friend forever
is precious
and quite rare.
